Today the Big 12 Media announced their preseason poll. I'm not surprised to see OU and OSU at the top. However, once again they have K-State at #6 bottom half of the poll which is laughable. This seems to happen every year despite our success. Texas is ahead of us every year yet they have not beat K-State in the last 4 years!!! I can't wait to make it five come September. Let the smack talk begin.
I know a lot of the poll is based on recruitment but, other teams should beware. Bill Snyder will make any team a champion team. These polls never end up holding true at the end of the season. EMAW Bring it on.
Six teams received first-place votes, but the Cowboys had the most with 15 for a total of 365 points. OSU won its inaugural Big 12 title in 2011. Eight-time league champion Oklahoma tallied eight top votes and 355 points to finish second in the preseason rankings. The Sooners and Kansas State shared the 2012 Conference title.
TCU was chosen third with nine first-place votes and 347 points while Texas placed fourth with eight first-place nods and 337 points. Baylor picked up two first-place votes and totaled 282 points to finish fifth while K-State was awarded the final top vote and 240 points for sixth. The poll was rounded out by No. 7 Texas Tech, No. 8 West Virginia, No. 9 Iowa State and No. 10 Kansas.
Head coaches and selected student-athletes will converge in Dallas from July 22-23 for the annual Big 12 Football Media Days. Live video coverage, including press conferences and one-on-one interviews with a variety of guests, will be featured both days on the Big 12 Digital Network, including Big12Sports.com.
